‘Parent-inspired’: 17-year-old first among 15+ group to get job in Gurugram Gurgaon News – Times of India

Gurugram: A 17-year-old girl from DAV Public School, Sector 49 was the first teenager to get a Covid jab Children in Gurugram. Tamannaah Dhingra said that her parents, who are both fully vaccinated, inspired her to get vaccinated and in return she would inspire her peers to do the same. Her younger brother, who is in seventh grade, is not yet eligible for the vaccine.
Tamannaah did not need to book an appointment online and simply went to her school to take the shot. “I wanted to wait a little longer to get the vaccine, but my mother insisted that I get the Covaxin jab at the earliest, keeping in mind the rise in Covid cases,” said the Class 12 student.
She was clearly excited as she became the first woman to receive a dose of Covaxin on Monday Vaccination Drive in the city for 15 to 18 year olds. “Getting a vaccine is very important. When his turn comes, everyone should pay attention to it.”
When asked how she would contribute to the vaccination campaign, she said, “I will set an example and inspire others to take advantage of it. Many of my friends have registered themselves on the Co-Win portal and will get their jab soon. I hope that after this we will all be able to lead a normal life.”
A 16-year-old Class 11 student of the same school was the second child in the city to get vaccinated. Ayan Loeb said he had mixed feelings about vaccination, but his mother, a teacher, helped him understand its importance. “I had some doubts initially, but I got clarity from my mother. He has already received both his doses and he told me to go for it. I would inspire others to do the same.”
