Parambir Singh has alleged that despite being in custody, Sachin Wajhe (left) and Anil Deshmukh met at the Chandiwal Commission.

Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, in a statement to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), has alleged that sacked Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vajhe, who is lodged in jail in the custody of Mumbai Police, is being tortured. Vajhe has been humiliated by being naked in jail. He is being pressured to change the statement of recovery of 1OO crores against Anil Deshmukh.

Parambir Singh has alleged that despite being in custody, Sachin Wajhe and Anil Deshmukh met in the Chandiwal Commission. The two had a long meeting and during this Deshmukh had pressurized Wajhe to withdraw his reply to the ED. Thane Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Laxmikant Patil had also pressurized Sachin Wajhe to change his statement against Deshmukh.

CBI and ED are investigating the case
He had to resign from the post of Home Minister after Parambir Singh accused Anil Deshmukh of corruption. Deshmukh is presently lodged in the Arthur Road jail in judicial custody. CBI and ED are probing the case. Anil Deshmukh’s bail application has been rejected many times. Singh has said in the statement given to the ED that Anil Deshmukh and Minister Anil Parab used to finalize the list of transfers and postings of the police.

CM and Aditya Thackeray were also accused

Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has made serious allegations against the Thackeray family. In a statement to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Parambir said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had directly directed the reinstatement of Mumbai Police’s API Sachin Vajhe, who has been suspended for 16 years. After this, Uddhav’s son and state tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray also asked for Sachin Vajhe to be reinstated.

Sachin Vajhe is the main accused in the cases of placing explosives in a car outside Mukesh Ambani’s house Antilia and the murder of Mansukh Hiren, the owner of that vehicle. He is currently lodged in Taloja Jail, Mumbai. Maharashtra Police has dismissed him from service. It is alleged that Parambir, despite being a junior, had given responsibility of many important cases to Sachin Wajhe.

Kunte also made many serious allegations against Deshmukh
Former Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte has also made many revelations in front of the Enforcement Directorate (IND) in the corruption case against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Kunte has told the ED that the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh often used to hand him an “unofficial list” for transfer of police officers. He has said, ‘I was his subordinate, so I could not refuse to accept that list.’ These disclosures of Kunte are part of the chargesheet filed against Anil Deshmukh.

CM also ordered to create status quo
Kunte, in his interrogation with the ED, referred to the period when he worked under Deshmukh as additional chief secretary in the home department before becoming the chief secretary. He said that most of the names mentioned in the ‘unofficial list’ were also included in the final transfer order. On the cancellation of the transfer order of 10 DCPs in Mumbai in July 2020, Kunte said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had asked him to inform the then Mumbai Police Commissioner Paramvir Singh about it to maintain status quo on the matter.

28 times meeting regarding police transfer
Kunte said that since he was in the post of ACS Home, 28 meetings were held regarding police transfer, in which 27 transfer orders were issued and one list order was not issued because he had to Approval was not received. Anil Deshmukh was present during all these meetings.
