Tarkesh Kumar Ojha, Kharagpur

Signing on behalf of Mecheda and Panshkuda branches of Civil Resistance Forum at Mecheda and Panshkuda stations today on the demand for immediate resumption of all trains running before the Corona period and re-opening of concessions for the elderly and sick. Publicity campaign and memorandum was handed over to the station master concerned.

The deputation was led by Madhusudan Bera, President of Civil Resistance Forum, Saroj Maiti, Joint Secretary Tapan Nayak, Office Secretary Subrata Das and others. . Both the station managers were presented with various demands regarding station centric roads/ ticket counters/ ramps/ overbridges.

The leaders complained that although the situation is now normal after the Corona period, all the local trains for Digha, Haldia and Kharagpur have not been started as before. Even the only Kolaghat local was not launched. Passenger trains like Shiromani and Ghatshila are being converted into express trains and the increased fare is being charged. This will not be tolerated and the railway administration will have to change its decision otherwise there will be a massive agitation.
