Singer Pankaj Udhas remembered Lata Mangeshkar’s influence on his career at Aaj Tak’s special ode to the Nightingale of India – Shradhanjali Tum Mujhe Bhula Na Paoge. He recalled singing her song, Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, in front of a huge audience as a child.
“Lata ji sang Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, which got Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru emotional. I grew up in the times of radio. This song used to play 8-10 times. I memorised this whole song. I used to sing it during school assembly , he said.
