Umesh further said – We stayed hungry and thirsty on the trolley all night. When the trolley was shaken by the wind, it seemed that life would be lost. It seemed that I could not escape now.
Trikutachal Mahadev Temple and the ashram of Rishi Dayanand are situated on Trikuta hill. Every year thousands of people come here for picnics and visit the temple. For this a ropeway has been made here.
It is the only one in Jharkhand and the highest ropeway of Bihar-Jharkhand. To reach this, 4-4 people are sent upstairs in a trolley each.
The ropeway of Trikut mountain is made at an angle of 90 degrees to the ground. Due to strong winds in the morning, the rescue team was unable to do anything even after 6 hours of effort.
Jharkhand Tourism Minister Hafizul Hasan said that Damodar Valley Corporation, which is operating the ropeway, will be blacklisted. How the sap was broken, how was its maintenance going, all these points will be investigated.
Tourism Minister Hafizul Hasan said that in the coming times, an alternate road will be built for the safety of tourists, so that there is no dependence on ropeways for travel.
The Air Force has deployed two helicopters for the rescue operation. NDRF also had to be called to rescue people trapped in 26 trolleys.
The Air Force helicopter arrived on Monday morning at around 6.30 am. Commandos were also present in it. Aerial survey was done before starting the rescue operation. Food packets and drinking water are also being delivered to the people trapped in the cabin.
About 48 people were trapped hungry and thirsty in these trolleys all night. The rescued people told that we kept talking to each other to end the fear. We all couldn’t sleep the whole night. Were praying to God that how can we be saved.
The accident happened at 4 pm on Sunday, when 26 trolleys were sent simultaneously towards the temple built on the mountain. Due to which the load suddenly increased on the wires and the roller broke. Three trolleys collided with the mountain. Due to this two trolleys fell down.
26 lives are still trapped on the ropeway of Trikut mountain in Deoghar, Jharkhand. Army, Air Force and NDRF have taken the lead to get them out. The rescue was started again with the help of MI-17 helicopter at 12 noon on Monday.
