Palestinians rally in support of escaped prisoners in Ramallah and Gaza

Palestinians clashed with Israeli security forces near the Hawara checkpoint south of Nablus on Wednesday night, shortly after Islamic jihadists rioted in Israeli prisons.

At the same time, disturbances were reported in other areas of the West Bank such as Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Anabata, Jenin and Tubas.

According to Army Radio, the number of Palestinians taking part in demonstrations in all areas is up to 500.

Solidarity events were called in the city of Ramallah and Gaza City to show support for six security prisoners who were released from an Israeli prison on Monday.

There are also planned marches and rallies in Nablus, Hebron and Bethlehem, the Safa press agency reported.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, Palestinian factions are calling on people to stand up for IDF troops, which have been deployed across the West Bank in search of fugitives.

The organization also reported: “Loudspeakers in West Bank mosques prompt people to take to the streets after sunset prayers to take part in marches in support of prisoners and to march to Israeli checkpoints and seam points to face occupation. calls for.”

According to army radio, there were calls on social media to demonstrate at the Nablus Gate against “guard attacks on Palestinian prisoners”. It is not clear what the scope of the demonstration will be.
