Deepak Hooda is going through a rough patch for Lucknow Super Giants, after being dropped in the previous match, Krunal Pandya recalled Hooda for the match against Mumbai Indians but the Indian all-rounder failed to capitalize on the opportunity.

Hooda came in to open the innings for LSG alongside Quinton de Kock after he was invited to bat first by Rohit Sharma, who won the toss and elected to bowl.

Earlier, Hooda also got a huge lifeline as he was dropped by Tim David, but the Australian all-rounder redeemed himself in the very next over by taking Hooda’s catch, off Jason Behrendorff to give Mumbai Indians their first breakthrough.

Behrendorff then had a chance to take a hat-trick as he dismissed Prerak Mankad for a golden duck but LSG captain Krunal Pandya came out to bat and was denied a hat-trick.
