Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui criticizes ‘Mission Majnu’ starrer Sidharth Malhotra Criticized it for ‘misrepresentation’ of Pakistanis in the film, which he tagged as ‘obnoxious’ and ‘factually incorrect’ and for ‘poor story, poor execution, worst research’. Adnan took to Instagram to share his thoughts. The actor who acted in Hindi film ‘Mom’ starring late actress Srideviwrote: “How much misrepresentation is too much misrepresentation? Bollywood has the answer. I mean man, with all the money you have, hire some good researchers to do homework on us. Or help me allow.”

He shared Pakistanis “Don’t wear Topi, Surma and Taweez”, which was seen by Siddharth playing his character Tariq in the film directed by Shantanu Bagchi. Siddiqui wrote: “Be sure to take note – no, we don’t wear topi, surma, taweez; no, we don’t ask the gentleman about his mood; no, we don’t go about throwing adab. There’s a lot.” This is distasteful and factually incorrect in #MissionMajnu. If the villains were shown as equals, then the protector complex of the hero would have increased further. A weak antagonist beautifies even a weak protagonist.

Adding further he wrote, “Bad story, bad execution, worst research. Next time, come and meet us. We are good hosts. Will show you how we look, dress and live.”

Ever since the trailer of Mission Majnu came out last year, a section of people have questioned the film for showing Pakistani culture in a stereotypical way. In a recent interview, Siddharth addressed the same saying, “We have made a conscious effort in writing that it is never about any particular community…”
