Pakistan Pacer Hasan Ali Gets into Brawl with Spectators During Local Game

Pakistan’s out-of-favour fast bowler Hasan Ali on Sunday got into an ugly brawl with a spectator during a cricket tournament held in Arifwala in Punjab province after being irked by continuous rude comments.

The incident is reminiscent of the feud between two former Pakistan captains, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Younis Khan.

In a video uploaded on social media, Hasan can be seen charging at a particular spectator for thrashing him as the organizers rushed to control the situation.

Hasan was seen fielding at the boundary line when a spectator started taunting him for dropping a catch during the 2021 T20I in Pakistan. World Cup semi-final against Australia in UAE.

Hasan did not react to the incessant commotion for some time, but after exchanging a few words with a man standing in the stands, was seen running towards him.

While the organizers saved the day, some members of the crowd expressed their displeasure that Hasan’s attitude was not befitting of an international player.

A source close to Hasan said that the bowler lost his temper after the spectator used foul language.

“Hasan playing in the tournament did a lot to promote local cricket,” he added.

Earlier in similar incidents Inzamam had infamously walked into the crowd and fought with a spectator during a Pakistan and a India 1997 Sahara Cup match in Toronto.

Inzamam had reacted when spectators kept calling him “potatoes”, and the part-time batsman from Multan asked to walk with his bat raised to the stands of the Skating and Curling Club ground.

Similarly, during a high-profile local tournament in Karachi in 2010, Younis Khan thrashed a spectator and dragged him into the dressing room to taunt him, and when he was walking out.

Hasan could be called up as reinforcement for the remaining two Tests against England in Multan and Karachi after Haris Rauf was injured.
