The head of the National Command and Operation Center announced yesterday that the last date for vaccination for employees of hotels and restaurants, train service, public transport, employees of government offices and those working in shops and markets would be August 31. “After this deadline, non-vaccinated people will not be allowed to work,” he announced.

It is to be noted that the Sindh government had yesterday imposed a lockdown till August 8 as the province grapples with an alarming surge in COVID-19 infections.

Earlier in the day, the Sindh government announced easing of lockdown restrictions notified yesterday, lifting pillar riding restrictions and allowing areas that are fully vaccinated to operate.

Addressing a press conference, Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab said that it was because of the decisions taken by the Sindh government, including blocking of mobile SIMs, that led to a manifold increase in the vaccination process.
