Pakistan: In the latest incident of vandalism against places of worship of minorities, a Hindu temple in Pakistan’s Karachi city was vandalized on Wednesday. According to the police, the idols kept inside the Shri Mari Mata temple in Korangi area of ​​Karachi were destroyed. The temple is located in “J” area within the limits of Korangi Thana.

The incident created panic and fear among the Hindu community living in Karachi, especially in the Korangi area, where police were deployed to avoid any untoward incident.

An eyewitness said that six to eight people entered the area on motorcycles and attacked the temple.

At the same time, a case has been registered against unknown people in the matter.

According to official estimates, there are 7.5 million Hindus living in Pakistan. However, community wise, there are over 90 lakh Hindus living in the country.

Most of Pakistan’s Hindu population is settled in Sindh province where they share culture, traditions and language with Muslim residents. They often complain of harassment by extremists.
