At least 10 people, including six Chinese engineers, were killed in a horrific bomb blast on a bus in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region on Wednesday. Two Pakistani soldiers were also among the dead, Reuters news agency said, adding that the death toll could rise. According to Dawn.com, the bus was carrying workers to the Dasu hydroelectric plant in Upper Kohistan district.
The incident took place around 7.30 am when the bus was carrying over 30 people to the plant site.

The website quoted a senior police officer as saying that the mobile network was not working in the area when the incident took place, making the flow of information difficult.
Chinese engineers and construction workers are helping Pakistan build a dam in Kohistan.
In Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said China was “shocked and condemned by the bomb attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.”
Kamran Bangash, a government spokesman for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, asked the media not to speculate as authorities were still investigating. He said helicopters were taking seriously injured persons to hospitals for treatment and investigators would soon brief the media about the cause of the incident.
