India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan objecting to Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Pakistan has no right to comment on Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

In fact, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had called PM Modi’s visit to Kashmir a ‘sham’. Also objecting to the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of Ratle and Kwar hydroelectric projects on the Chenab river, saying that it is a clear violation of the Indus Water Treaty.

Shahbaz had called PM Modi’s visit a ‘sham’
Responding to a query on this matter, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said- On the issue of Prime Minister’s visit to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, I do not understand the meaning of the word ‘sham’. From this wording it seems that this attack did not happen and we are trying to pretend that it did.

He said- It is very clear from the hospitality that he (Prime Minister) received and the pictures you have seen. The development projects inaugurated by PM Modi and the changes that have taken place on the ground are a clear answer to any question that may arise about the visit of the Prime Minister. Under any circumstances, Pakistan has no right to talk from the perspective of what is happening in Jammu and Kashmir.

Expressed desire to work with India
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif had expressed his desire to work together with India. In a letter to PM Modi, he had said- the goal of peace and stability and all disputed issues including Jammu and Kashmir can be resolved peacefully. Peaceful relations between India and Pakistan are essential for the socio-economic development of the citizens.

He also inaugurated the Banihal-Qazigund Road Tunnel built at a cost of over Rs 3,100 crore. The 8.45 km long tunnel will reduce the road distance between Banihal and Qazigund by 16 km and reduce the travel time by about one and a half hours.
