According to a statement issued by the National Assembly Secretariat on Friday, it has “banned the entry of unauthorized social media influencers, YouTubers, TikTokers into the premises of Parliament House.” The decision was taken in the context of the incident of misbehavior with MPs by some unauthorized YouTubers/social media influencers at Gate No. 1 of Parliament House on December 23 last year.

According to the statement, these YouTubers entered the premises of the Parliament House without authorized entry.

The same incident was also conveyed to the President’s Press Reporters Association (PRA) to know its stand and it formally conveyed that it is responsible only to its members.

PRA differentiates itself from youtubers and social media influencers.

Besides this, the PRA also decided to ensure restriction of entry of unauthorized persons in the Press Gallery and Press Lounge of the House.
