Coimbatore: The owner of a vest manufacturing unit in Tiruppur and her lover committed suicidal by consuming poison Friday morning at his business establishment at Neruprichal near Anupparpalayam.
The police have identified the deceased as 39-year-old Prem, resident of Balan Nagar in Neruperichal and 30-year-old Nirosha from Theni district.
An investigating officer said that Prem was unmarried and was living with his mother in a rented house.
He said that Nirosha was also living in a rented house with her husband and two children. “She was working as a tailor in Prem’s vest unit. The two fell in love and developed an illicit relationship affair. When both the family members came to know about the relationship, they advised both not to continue it.
Meanwhile, on Thursday night, both of them consumed poison at the vest manufacturing unit. “Nirosha told her husband that she was doing night shift. When they came to work on Friday morning, the unit staff saw the bodies and alerted us,” the official said.
The bodies were sent to the Government Hospital in Tiruppur and handed over to the families of the deceased after post-mortem later in the day. Anupparpalayam police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
