Addressing a public meeting in Telangana’s Adilabad city on Sunday, Owaisi asked why the Prime Minister did not take religious leaders of other religions inside after the inauguration of the new Parliament.

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the inauguration of the new parliament, saying he took only Hindu ‘pujaris’ (priests) inside the building and alleged that the event was like the ‘coronation of the Sultan of Delhi’. It seems.

Addressing a public meeting in Telangana’s Adilabad city on Sunday, Owaisi asked why the Prime Minister did not take religious leaders from other religions inside the new Parliament after its inauguration.

“The new Parliament House was inaugurated. I saw on TV, the Prime Minister was going inside the Parliament and 18-20 Hindu priests were chanting mantras behind him (inside the Parliament). Prime Minister, you took only Hindu priests. Why didn’t the prime minister take Christian priests, Muslim clerics and religious leaders from other religions inside (the new parliament)?” the Hyderabad MP asked.

“Prime Minister, there is no one religion in India. India follows every religion. It is a pity that the PM took religious leaders of only one religion in the new Lok Sabha. I wish you would have been big-hearted enough to take in Christians, Sikhs, Muslims and Jains (religious leaders) as well,” Owaisi said.

He said, ‘It did not seem that the new Parliament House was being inaugurated, rather it seemed that the coronation of the Sultan of Delhi was taking place. Is this the secularism of India? The Prime Minister should not have done this. Mr. Modi, you are the prime minister of Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, tribals and the prime minister of 130 crore people. Owaisi said, you are not the Prime Minister of any one religion.

The grand opening of the new parliament in New Delhi on Sunday included a havan, a multi-faith prayer ceremony and the installation of the sengol (scepter) in a special enclosure in the Lok Sabha chamber.

Regarding the Telangana elections due later in the year, Owaisi said that the AIMIM had played a role in defeating the BJP in the 2014 and 2018 state assembly elections and did not want the saffron party to rise in the state.

AIMIM chief said he will discuss with people and party leaders how many assembly seats the party will contest in the upcoming elections in Telangana, plans to field candidates in constituencies outside Hyderabad’s old city (AIMIM bastion) Is. “I have come to consult you and the Majlis leaders and then decide on it,” he said.

He said AIMIM is fighting the BJP in Telangana to protect India, secularism and ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’ (the syncretic culture of Hindus and Muslims).

“They (AIMIM accusers) accuse Owaisi of cutting their votes. Did AIMIM contest from Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Secunderabad Lok Sabha seats (in 2019 election), but BJP won there. I didn’t fight the battle and BJP won there. And who is to blame? Owaisi asked.

Owaisi said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah knows that till AIMIM is not strong in Telangana, BJP’s saffron flag cannot be hoisted on the secretariat. He alleged, “As long as the Majlis (AIMIM) is strong here, they cannot do mob lynching in the name of cows in Telangana.”

On the allegation by Shah and others that the steering of the car (the election symbol of the BRS party) is in the hands of Owaisi, he said the BRS government spent Rs 2,500 crore on the development of temples and the priests there, while the minorities in the state have annual There is budget. 2,200 crores

“The government spent Rs 1,200 crore for the Yadadri temple (abode of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha). I don’t mind. The Islamic center was not built (in Hyderabad), but the Telangana chief minister is going to inaugurate the Brahmin Sadan,” Owaisi said.
