In an open letter, the former civil servants said Thakur had lost her moral right to be a Member of Parliament with her inciting speeches and repeated propaganda of hatred.

Over 100 former bureaucrats on Saturday demanded action against BJP Lok Sabha member from Bhopal Pragya Thakur over her alleged inflammatory speech in Karnataka, claiming that it “spread hatred against non-Hindu communities”.

In an open letter, he said that Thakur has lost his moral right to be a Member of Parliament with his inciting speeches and repeated propaganda of hatred.

“A special responsibility rests upon the Houses of Parliament which make laws for the country. Surely its members cannot be allowed to violate the principles of the Constitution?

“Therefore we urge upon the Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha to take immediate action to refer the matter to the Ethics Committee of Lok Sabha for such action as may be deemed appropriate,” it said.

Thakur had said in Shivamogga on December 25 that Hindus have a right to reply to those who attacked him and his dignity because he spoke about the killing of Hindu activists.
