Thiruvananthapuram: The state witnessed 3,698 positive cases out of 45,190 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Of the new cases detected, 3,171 have taken vaccination, 1,500 have been fully vaccinated and 1,251 have not received a single dose.
The total active cases currently stand at 54,091, of which 7.2% are either admitted in hospitals or other treatment centres.
Meanwhile, 75 deaths were confirmed due to Kovid, taking the death toll in the state to 37,675. At the same time, 7,515 patients have recovered from the disease.
Of the new cases, 3,432 cases have been infected through local spread. The contact source of infection could not be traced for 238. Among those infected, 13 are health professionals and 15 people have come from outside the state.
Kozhikode reported the highest number of cases at 724, followed by Ernakulam (622), Thiruvananthapuram (465), Kollam (346), Thrissur (247), Kottayam (228), Kannur (200), Malappuram (179), Idukki (162) Huh. , ), Alappuzha (151), Wayanad (119), Palakkad (115), Pathanamthitta (110), and Kasaragod (28).
A total of 1,88,979 persons are currently under observation in various districts of the state, of which 1,83,929 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres, and 5,050 are in isolation in hospitals.
As per the weekly infection population ratio, the WIPR is more than 10% in 46 wards of 39 local bodies. Strict lockdown restrictions have been implemented in these wards.
