RRR bagged an Oscar nomination for the song Naatu Naatu

RRR’s nomination in Best Original Song came amid much anticipation and hopes that the film might make it to the Best Foreign Film category. A section of social media also predicted that the film would be nominated in the Best Picture and Best Actor categories.

Recently during a media interaction, RRR director Rajamouli broke his silence on choosing the show Chhelo over RRR. He told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s disappointing. But we’re not the kind of people who will sit and wonder why it didn’t happen. What’s done is done, and we have to move on with it. But I’m happy because it ( Chhelo Show/The Last Film Show) is also an Indian film and it is also shortlisted for Oscar. I am quite happy for it. Of course, everyone knew that RRR has a huge chance.
