Oppo is a leader in Made in India mobile shipments, registers 22 per cent growth in Q1 2022

Global smart device brand Oppo emerged as the leader in ‘Made in India’ smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2022, registering a growth of 22 per cent (year-on-year), a new report showed on Monday. Due to the increasing demand for smartphones in India India According to Counterpoint Research, along with the growth in exports, ‘Made in India’ smartphone shipments grew 7 per cent (YoY) in the first quarter of this year to reach 48 million units. Despite the lack of global components, the local smartphone manufacturing ecosystem remained resilient and Oppo displayed an exceptional performance emerging at the top as it achieved the maximum share of smartphone shipments.

According to the report, India’s handset manufacturing is expected to grow at 4 per cent year-on-year in 2022.
