Christopher Nolan is back with Oppenheimer! The film is a biopic of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who was instrumental in developing the world’s first nuclear weapon, thus ushering in the nuclear age. The film, which is slated to release on July 21, is creating a lot of buzz in India. Certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification, the film stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. It is expected that the film will get a strong opening in India.

Oppenheimer: screen count and runtime

Oppenheimer’s run time in India is 3 hours 2 minutes (182 minutes). The film received an R-rating worldwide, but not in India due to self-censorship of nudity. The Christopher Nolan film is releasing in over 1250 screens in India, mainly in national multiplex chains. The final count may reportedly reach 1500 screens by Thursday night.

Oppenheimer: advance booking

Oppenheimer is eyeing a massive opening day collection in India. Its tickets for Rs 2450 (without tax) have already been sold. The costliest tickets are for the IMAX screen at PVR ICON: Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel in Mumbai at 7 pm and the 10 pm show on the film’s opening day – July 21.

Tickets for the show are also available for Rs 1,800 and are almost sold out. Reportedly, IMAX shows in Mumbai start at 12:01 am and its seats are almost sold out. Several IMAX theaters in Mumbai are also presenting shows at 3:00 and 3:30 am, 7:30 and 8:00 am, which are going housefull.

The Universal film was written and directed by Nolan, based on the book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J.J. Sherwin by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. Based on Robert Oppenheimer.
