Ghulam Nabi Azad, who devoted 50 years of his life to the Congress party, has revealed for the first time in my show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ why Sonia Gandhi decided not to become the Prime Minister in 2004. These sensational revelations unlock longstanding political secrets. He also revealed why Sonia Gandhi preferred Dr. Manmohan Singh for the post of PM and did not choose any other senior Congress leader for the post. Why was Pranab Mukherjee not made the PM at that time? Ghulam Nabi Azad reveals another secret: Who stopped Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from joining active politics? Why was Rahul Gandhi preferred over Priyanka? Azad also makes some interesting revelations about why the Congress lost badly in Punjab and whether Navjot Singh Sidhu sunk the party’s ship in that state? All these political riddles will be revealed to you by watching the show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ on India TV at 10 pm on Saturdays. You will know when the entire Congress party, along with its allies DMK, Left and others, agreed to name Sonia as the obvious choice for PM, but the Gandhi family refused to take up the offer. Azad revealed for the first time that Sonia Gandhi was scared because some women leaders of the BJP had decided to oppose her if she was made the PM. Azad also revealed why Priyanka was not brought into active politics despite campaigning for her mother in Rae Bareli. Azad has also revealed why Priyanka has not contested any election till date. Azad said it was he who had suggested Sonia Gandhi to retain the Bellary Lok Sabha seat and allow Priyanka to contest from Rae Bareli, but Sonia decided otherwise. He retained the Rae Bareilly seat and resigned from Bellary. I asked Azad why Rahul was preferred over Priyanka to join politics. Azad’s answer was surprising. In the show, Azad repeatedly told me that he knew many secrets about the Gandhi family, but he did not reveal personal details. All these secrets will go with him to his grave, he said. One important thing to note: Ghulam Nabi Azad, despite leaving the Congress party, did not criticize Sonia or Priyanka, but reserved all his scathing comments for Rahul and his advisors. Rahul never wanted to work hard in active politics, he never listened to others and when leaders like him gave advice, he alleged that they were Modi supporters, he alleged. Must watch Aap Ki Adalat with Ghulam Nabi Azad tonight at 10 PM on India TV and if you can’t miss it, watch Sunday morning at 10 AM.

Amit Shah lashed out at Rahul

Addressing rallies in UP’s Kaushambi and Azamgarh on Friday, Home Minister Amit Shah taunted Rahul Gandhi and said that he lost the Lok Sabha membership because of his own mistakes. Shah alleged that Rahul maligned India’s image on foreign soil. It is not democracy but the (Gandhi) dynasty which is in danger, he said. Shah also challenged to fix a place where BJP workers would be ready to ‘accept’ Rahul’s challenge. In Delhi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed concern over Indian leaders tarnishing the country’s image abroad without naming Rahul. Amit Shah’s speeches clearly indicate that BJP is going to make Rahul’s controversial remarks a big issue in the upcoming elections. Rahul had said in a press conference that ‘I am not Savarkar, I am Gandhi and Gandhi does not apologise’. Congress leaders are trapped. He does not know how to counter BJP’s attacks on this issue.

Congress wants unity of opposition

Congress leaders have accepted that the party alone cannot defeat Narendra Modi in the elections, and only a united opposition can give a tough fight to the BJP. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is talking to each opposition leader individually to forge an anti-Modi front. He spoke on phone to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Shiv Sena (Uddhav) chief Uddhav Thackeray. There are two major obstacles in the way of opposition unity. One, the existence of regional parties and second, the unanimous projection of one face for the post of PM. The RJD and JD-U in Bihar, the TMC in Bengal, the SP and BSP in UP, the AAP in Delhi and Punjab, the BRS in Telangana, or the DMK in Tamil Nadu, all these regional parties emerged after eroding the base of the Congress party in their respective states. In. It seems that these parties will give some space to Congress in their respective states. Akhilesh Yadav in UP is still ruining the day he decided to join hands with Rahul for the elections. Late Mulayam Singh Yadav had then said that Akhilesh was making a mistake. Mulayam was proved right. Secondly, there is little chance of regional leaders like Mamata Banerjee or Nitish Kumar accepting Rahul Gandhi as the PM candidate. Both may not be saying so publicly, but consider themselves strong contenders. Mamata has publicly stated that Narendra Modi would prefer Rahul as the PM candidate of the opposition, as it would make her victory easier. The way opposition leaders talk about unity among themselves, the moment the question of Congress arises, all talk of unity ends without a starter. Nitish Kumar has realized this and has started cultivating his Muslim vote bank by attending Iftar parties during Ramzan in Bihar.
