Hubli: Two International Mail Booking Counters (IBMC) have been set up Hubli And Dharwad, First time in North Karnataka Postal Zone. Now anyone can send parcel to Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, USA. Singapore, and European countries from Hubli.
There are dedicated counters to pack and guide in booking of consignments.
IR MutnaliThe assistant superintendent of the post office of Dharwad said, in view of the number of international mail bookings, the postmaster general N Vinodkumar, and Senior Superintendent VSL Narasimha Rao planned to set up a dedicated service for international parcels and mail. “In Hubballi and Dharwad, more than 50 international consignments are booked every month,” he said.
He said that the exclusive counter will have four employees who will take care of the packing as per international standards and provide any information the customers need.
Anil Desai, a businessman, said he is looking forward to using the new service. “My sister is in the USA. We used to send gifts during festivals and other occasions, and the courier prices are very high,” he said.
