opd: AIIMS Bhubaneswar resumes OPD services | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: AIIMS Bhubaneswar resumed its outpatient department (OPD) services from Monday. The hospital received around 2500 patients in the OPD on the first day. All departments worked like before.
The national institute had closed its walk-in OPD services from January 17 due to increase in Covid-19 cases in the state and Bhubaneswar. But it was providing OPD services via telemedicine and AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya App, If necessary, patients were also visiting the hospital after consulting the doctors.
Hospital sources said around 10,000 patients have received OPD services from January 17 to February 6. During this period, it continued emergency services smoothly along with treatment of Covid patients.
The departments were advised to follow Covid-19 protocols while allowing the patients and their attendants into OPD blocks. Medical superintendent Sachidananda Mohanty had instructed the departments to reserve 4-5 beds in each ward for the new admission cases (suspect).
People were demanding the hospital to open its OPD for patients coming from different parts of the state.
