Shinde-Fadnavis Delhi Tour: During his two-day visit to Delhi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the only natural alliance that can take Maharashtra forward is the alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena.

Eknath Shinde said: “The existence of our MLAs was in danger under the MVA government. Then we could not speak and that’s why we stepped in. It is only the natural alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena that can take Maharashtra forward. “

Devendra Fadnavis, who is visiting Delhi to meet prominent BJP leaders, said: “My party made me the CM earlier. Now, as per the need of the party, we have followed the decision of the party. Eknath Shinde is our leader and CM. We will work under him. Injustice was undone and our natural alliance was revived.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met President Ram Nath Kovind and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh here on Saturday.

The meetings between the Shinde-led faction of the BJP and Shiv Sena at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence began late Friday night and lasted till the early hours of Saturday after a lengthy discussion on the power-sharing arrangement in Maharashtra.

Shinde started his day by paying floral tributes at the statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji, BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule at Maharashtra Sadan here.

Shinde and Fadnavis went to Rashtrapati Bhavan for a meeting with Kovind after assuming office on June 30.

After this both the leaders met the Defense Minister at his residence.

Shinde and Fadnavis, who assumed office on June 30, a day after the then chief minister Uddhav Thackeray stepped down due to a major rebellion, are also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

In a five-hour overnight meeting with Shah, the two leaders from Maharashtra discussed the broader nature of the power-sharing formula between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction.
