Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo has impressed the audience, and its box office records are proof. Touted as an action-thriller, the movie has been generating much buzz and excitement amongst cine-goers, who have been raving about it on social media. Overall, fans left the theatres with a great cinematic experience. Recently, filmmaker Omar Lulu shared his opinion on Leo.

Omar Lulu is prominently known for his contribution to Malayalam cinema. He marked his directorial debut in the year 2016. In a now-deleted Instagram post, the director had reportedly shared his opinion about the movie. He called the movie a “one-time watch.” Along with this, he even said, “Give theatre to the Kannur squad again. If not, what theatre owners are doing to Malayalam cinema will be unfair.” While the post is no more available on the internet, his opinion received support and critique from many on social media. Mammootty-starrer Kannur Squad was released in theatres on September 28. According to reports, earlier, theatre owners stated that Leo doesn’t pose any threat to Kannur Squad.

Omar Lulu made his debut as a director with the movie Happy Wedding, which was headlined by Sharafudheen, Soubin Shahir, Siju Wilson and Justin John. It grossed over Rs 13.7 crore. His next movie was Chunkzz, which starred Honey Rose and Balu Varghese and hit the screens in August 2017, It proved to be a commercial success and collected Rs 20 crore. He has also directed the film Oru Adaar Love, Dhamaka and Nalla Samayam. Nalla Samayam was his last movie to hit the theatres in 2022.

Leo is centred around a cafe owner, who lives happily with his wife. He is mild-mannered but suddenly turns into a local hero after an act of violence. This results in repercussions that are associated with his past life, which he has left behind; but his past is all set to shake his new life to the core.
