Hemang Badani took to social media to recall an interesting story about the 2001 Test match in Kolkata

Badani posted on Twitter, “On the fifth day our wicketkeeper Mongia got injured and you were actually there as a substitute fielder and Sourav knowing that I am one of the few people who can speak English well, Told me to make it tough for the Aussies.”

“I hadn’t even made my Test debut then and imagine I was going down hard on his skip who had played over 100 Test matches and I was lucky enough to be a part of his dismissal. I have not been a part of a better cricket match than this. Great cricket and great memories for me.”

Earlier, Badani shared the story of how the Indian cricket team packed their suitcases before arriving on the ground on the fourth day, ready to leave for the third Test in Chennai.

“Not many people know that at the end of the third day we had packed our suitcases, they had to be taken straight to the airport and the team had to go straight from the ground to the airport. And then these two went through the day without losing a wicket Batted like a magician.” Badani wrote on Twitter.

“When we came back to the hotel, we didn’t have our suitcases and were stuck with our match gear and tracks till around 9 pm or so. Several of us in white had dinner in the hotel restaurant.”
