Taliban’s Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar likely to be named Afghanistan’s new president CNN-News18.

Baradar is one of the co-founders of the Taliban, who now heads the insurgent group’s political office and is part of the negotiating team the group has in Doha to try and finish a political settlement that would be a can pave the way for A ceasefire and a more lasting peace in Afghanistan.

Baradar, one of the trusted commanders of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, was captured by security forces in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi in 2010 and released in 2018.
