The central government’s warning on corona infection has alerted the states. So far, 10 states have declared restrictions ahead of Christmas and New Year’s, due to the threat of the new Omicron variant. Taking strictness, states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat have implemented night curfew.

Christmas and New Year celebrations have been banned in Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Odisha. A village in Telangana has imposed a 10-day lockdown on its own in view of the threat of Omicron.

Night curfew in these 4 states

Strictness again after 37 days in Madhya Pradesh
Night curfew has been imposed again in the state after 37 days on Thursday. There will be strictness on movement in the state from 11 pm to 5 am. The government has said that only people above 18 years of age who have taken both doses of the vaccine in gym, coaching, theatre, cinema hall, swimming pool will get entry.

Night curfew in Rajasthan from second wave
Night curfew is in force since the second wave of corona in the state. Although the strictness was reduced a bit after the case was reduced, but in view of the threat of Omicron, the government has again come into alert mode. The Gehlot government has also started thinking about the guidelines. A meeting is also going to take place on this today.

Restrictions increased in 8 cities of Gujarat
Night curfew is in force in 8 major cities till December 31. Cities with restrictions include Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar and Junagadh. The timing of night curfew will be from 1 pm to 5 am. Restaurants can remain open with 75% of the population till midnight under the current night curfew restrictions. Home delivery and take-away services are also allowed till midnight.

Section-144 implemented in UP’s Noida-Lucknow
Night curfew orders have been issued in the state on Friday. The government has given orders to implement it from the night of 25 December. Amidst the growing threat of Omicron, the Yogi government in Noida and Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh has imposed Section 144 till December 31.

Full stop on Christmas-New Year celebration in Delhi

Here public celebrations on Christmas and New Year have been banned. According to the order of DDMA, till further orders, only 50 percent seating capacity will be allowed in any hotel, bar or restaurant.

Schools closed in Maharashtra, new guidelines on celebration
The state government has decided to close the school again. Mumbai Municipal Corporation has issued new guidelines for public celebration of Christmas and New Year. Now people will be able to gather only up to 50% capacity of the venue. In Nashik, people who have not been vaccinated have been banned from entering malls and government offices.

10 days lockdown in Telangana village
38 cases of new corona variant Omicron have been found here. Meanwhile, a lockdown has been imposed for 10 days with everyone’s consent after an Omicron was found infected in a village named Gadem of the state.

Ban on New Year celebrations in Karnataka
Celebrations of New Year have been banned in the state for the second consecutive year from December 30 to January 2. Although there is no ban on the celebration of Christmas, mass gatherings in churches have been banned.

Vaccination necessary for celebration in Tamil Nadu
The state government has not imposed any major restrictions regarding New Year and Christmas celebrations, but has declared it mandatory to give entry in hotels and clubs to only those who have got corona vaccination. Only a limited number of people will be able to celebrate the New Year on the sea beach of Chennai.

Ban on New Year parties in Odisha too
There is a complete ban on organizing parties in the state regarding New Year. This ban on hotels, restaurants and public places in the state will be applicable on December 31 and January 1.
