Omicron scare: Police in Gautam Buddh Nagar sensitizes people about Covid protocol amid night curfew

Gautam Budh Nagar Police patrolled across the city on Saturday night to make people aware about the proper behavior of Kovid and night curfew.

In the wake of the rise in COVID cases in several states, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday issued orders for strict measures, including a statewide night curfew from December 25.

The restrictions have been imposed indefinitely from 11 pm to 5 am as the state saw daily Covid-19 cases nearly doubling overnight to 49 on Friday.

The police made the announcement and asked people to strictly follow the new restrictions and carry out continuous patrolling to ensure adherence to the guidelines.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday chaired a high-level meeting and directed officials to limit the number of people attending events like marriages to 200.

Adityanath also directed officials to ensure that people coming to Uttar Pradesh from other states or abroad are traced and tested and extra vigil is maintained at buses, railway stations and airports.
