The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.22 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.40 per cent, the highest since March 2020. The active COVID-19 caseload has registered an increase of 1,546 cases in a 24-hour period.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It had crossed 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October. , 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and crossed the one crore mark on 19 December. India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on 4 May and 30 million on 23 June.
