India on Monday recorded 3,06,064 new coronavirus infections, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,95,43,328, while active cases rose to 22,49,335, the highest in 241 days. The death toll rose to 4,89,848 with 439 fresh deaths. On Monday, the active COVID-19 caseload registered an increase of 62,130 cases in a 24-hour period. According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 20.75 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 17.03 per cent. The cumulative dose administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign has exceeded 162.26 crore.
