Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena said that all nine people found infected with the Omicron version of the corona virus in Rajasthan were discharged from a government hospital on Thursday after testing negative for the infection twice.

He said that his reports for blood, CT scan and all other tests are normal and he has been advised to remain in home quarantine for a week.

Dr Sudhir Bhandari, Principal of Sawai Mansingh Medical College said that research on Omicron variants is still going on.

“This variant spreads rapidly but it is not as deadly as the delta version,” he said. Meanwhile, 38 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Rajasthan, officials said.

The maximum number of 18 new cases were reported in Jaipur.

With this, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 260, officials said.
