The priests of Mahakaleshwar temple have objected to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Oh My God – 2 (OMG-2). The teaser of the film has been released on 11 July. In this, Akshay Kumar is seen in the form of Lord Shiva with long hair and ashes on his forehead. The film was to be released in theaters on August 11, 2023. The censor board has banned the release. The board has sent the film to the review committee. The Censor Board will take the final decision after considering the Review Committee. Many shots of the film have been shot in Ujjain. Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam will also be seen in lead roles in this.
After the action of the censor board, the priests of Mahakal temple are angry about the film. Mahesh Sharma, the head priest of the temple, said, “If controversies related to Sanatan Dharma come to the fore after the film’s release, the Mahakal Sena will oppose it.” It would be better if the objectionable shots – dialogues are already removed. The film should be released after showing saints and seers.

There was a dispute during the shooting as well
The shooting of OMG-2 went on for a week in Ujjain in October 2021. The shooting was done in the temple premises, sanctum sanctorum, Nandi Hall and Ganesh Mandapam. Shots were shot on Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi in different locations of the temple. A market set was installed in the temple. The temple committee had received Rs 51,000 as rent for this. Mahant Awadhesh Puri Maharaj had raised questions on cooking food in discourse hall for low rent and film unit.
What is special in the teaser of the film
The teaser begins with Pankaj Tripathi’s voice over. They say, ‘Whether God exists or not, a person can give proof of this by being a theist or an atheist. But, God never discriminates among the slaves he has created. Be it the atheist Kanji Lal Mehta or the theist Kanti Sharan Mudgal. After this Akshay enters as Shiva. They say, ‘Have faith, you are the servant of Shiva.’
Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ram’ Arun Govil will also be seen in the film
Arun Govil will be seen in the role of Lord Ram in ‘OMG 2’. It was Arun who played the role of Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana. The special thing is that ‘OMG 2’ was to clash with Sunny Deol’s film ‘Gadar 2’ on August 11.
