Bhubaneswar: Orissa Police arrested and confiscated four people on Saturday.brown sugar’ worth more than Rs 1 crore from their possession, apart from other valuables in Bhadrak district.
During an enforcement drive, Bhadrak Rural Police seized 1,090 grams of brown sugar from an auto-rickshaw carrying four persons near Charampa on NH-16, Bhadrak Superintendent of Police Charan said Singh Meena.
The market value of the seized brown sugar is more than Rs 1 crore. He said that the police have also recovered one lakh rupees in cash, three mobile phones and other items.
Police said that the four accused, including a woman, have been produced in the court. Two accused are from Bhadrak district while two others Balasore The district, which is considered the hub of drug trafficking in Odisha.
Police said three of the accused had gone to Jaleshwar area of ​​Balasore district in an auto rickshaw and had bought drugs from a drug supplier, while the fourth accused used to supply brown sugar to Bhadrak and its adjoining areas.
