Odisha Police arrested four contractual employees of DRDO for sharing defense secrets with suspected Pak agents. Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: Orissa Police on Tuesday arrested four contractual personnel of Defense Research and Development Organization.DRDO) Feather Chandipur In Balasore District for allegedly sharing secret defense secrets to foreign agents who are suspected to be from Pakistan.
“They were working as low level contractual employees of DRDO at Chandipur ITR. Acting on credible intelligence inputs, we found four people wrongly traced and knowingly shared secret defense secrets to foreign agents, who are Pakistanis. Appears to be agents. The accused contacted foreign agents from various phone numbers and received huge money to act against India’s national security,” Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) Himanshu Lal told TOI.
The accused, whose identities were not disclosed by the police, have been booked under IPC sections 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy), 121-A (conspiracy to wage war against India) and 34 (act done with common intention). A case was registered under and Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act.
This is the second time such a case of espionage has come to light in Chandipur ITR. Ishwar Chandra Behera, a former DRDO employee, was arrested by the Odisha Police on 23 January 2015 for spying for a foreign agent.
In February this year, Behera was sentenced to life imprisonment by an additional district and sessions court in Balasore for spying for a foreign agent.
