During the investigation, the police came to know that Naik and both the women had reached Goa in 2020, two weeks before the lockdown came into force and started working at a construction site there. Naik had reportedly promised to marry both women who knew of his tumultuous relationship with him, and the two reportedly agreed to live together as their wives in his home. Had it.
“In June this year, a woman gave birth to a baby boy at Naik’s house in Goa. Since the child was born post-marriage, Naik insisted that he kill the child. Naik and another woman killed the child and buried the body in the forest,” said Kalahandi SP Saravana Vivek M.
Last month another woman gave birth to a child. Naik also allegedly killed her newborn and buried the body in the same forest. Police said that in both the cases the women had allegedly given their consent to Naik to kill their children and also helped him in destroying the evidence.
After a few days, all three returned to their villages in Kalahandi. Naik got into trouble when he refused to marry her. When a woman filed a complaint of kidnapping and rape against Naik, the police revealed the murder angle during the investigation.
“Our team took Naik to Goa where he identified the place where he had buried the children. The police retrieved only the skeletal remains of an infant, which was found in Goa on August 5 in the presence of an executive magistrate. The post-mortem of the exhumed body was done on August 6 by forensic experts from the Medical College, Goa.
