In a shocking incident in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, a hotel owner thrashed a customer for failing to pay his bill, police said on Sunday. The incident is from Laxmibazar area of ​​Ghasipura police station area of ​​Keonjhar district on Saturday.

The local police has arrested the hotelier. A purported video of the incident has also gone viral on social media.

According to the police, customer Jitendra Dehuri had gone to eat food at a hotel named ‘Maa’ on Saturday afternoon. Hotel owner Madhu Sahu asked him to clear the dues of Rs 140.

Jitendra had Rs 100 with him and requested the owner of the hotel to allow him to pay the remaining Rs 40 later.

However, the hotel owner refused and an argument broke out between the two. Soon, the dispute turned ugly as the hotelier along with his son thrashed the customer.

After getting the information, Ghasipura police reached the spot and registered a complaint.

“We have registered a case (number 187) and arrested hotel owner Madhu Sahu. He will be produced in court today,” Ghasipura IIC Manoranjan Bishi told IANS over phone.
