Odisha: Former Balasore MLA Arun Dey passes away Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: East Balasore Legislator And Arun Dey, a firebrand leader, died at a private hospital here on Monday at the age of 75. He was undergoing treatment after complications of Kovid.
A native of Balasore, Dey was living in Bhubaneswar. The people of his constituency fondly call him ‘Dada’. he had joined Communist Party of India (CPI) in 1971 and remained in the party till 1994.
He was elected as the Balasore MLA for the first time in 1974. In 1995, he contested the assembly elections as an independent candidate and won the seat from Balasore. Later he joined the Orissa Gana Parishad (OGP) and became an MLA. OGP Tickets in 2004
This five-time MLA was fighting for the rights of the workers. Orissa Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Pratap Jena And other leaders across party lines condoled Dey’s death.
