Obstacle in Jhotwara elevated road project, to be completed by December 2022 Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: The Jhotwara Elevated road project, proposed to ease the movement of vehicles between water patch and Kalwar Road area, has hit a roadblock.
For the 2,450 m long elevated road project, work cannot be started in 1,250 m stretch due to availability of land. Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is to remove 650 structures from the remaining portion of the proposed corridor.
An official said, “Around Rs 60 crore has been spent on this project till June. The entire project work can be completed by December 2022.”
The width of the three-lane elevated road will be 11.50 meters. Out of 529 pilings, 358 have been completed. Similarly, 53 ghats out of total 56 have been installed.
“Now, work can start only after the structure is removed,” the official said.
After getting the consent of the affected owners of Jhotwara elevated road project to shift, JDA has started work on the identified land.
“The work of road construction is going on in the land. Soon electricity, water and sewerage lines will be laid. After this, the structures falling on the route alignment will be removed.
In the budget of 2016-2017, BJP The government had announced the construction of elevated road to give relief to the passengers going to Jhotwara of Falna.
The road is proposed to ease traffic in one of the most congested areas of the city and provide relief to over 6 lakh residents. The project is significant as the narrow flyover has become a major hurdle. Since there is no land on both sides, the JDA is left with no option but to build an elevated road.
JDA has also taken a loan of Rs 119 crore for the project.
“The project was expected to be completed within 30 months of commencement. The then Chief Minister in July 2018 Vasundhra Raje laid the foundations. If the project is not completed on time, then the installments of the unfinished project may cause a setback to the JDA.
