NUH: A father concerned about his daughter’s education has approached the court, seeking his intervention for appointment of regular teachers in a local government middle school. The petitioner submitted that non-availability of teachers is affecting the education of her 13-year-old daughter and 129 students enrolled in the school.
The petitioner, 36-year-old Isab Khan, submitted that the school was running for many years with only one teacher and this was hampering the education of his daughter and other girls studying there. Even after several rounds of meetings with the local administration, no result came out. KHAN He said he was forced to take legal recourse.
Khan himself, a teacher who runs an educational institution for primary school students, said, “Mewat (Noah) remains backward due to lack of access to proper education. There are neither teachers nor buildings for the students to stay. The authorities think that people do not want to educate their children but this is not true. I have dreams for my three daughters.”
Khan has named in his petition Haryana Chief Secretary, District Education Officer, Nuh and Principal of Government Middle School, Biwan as Respondents. A local court accepted his plea on December 21, 2021, and summoned officials of the education department to respond. The next hearing is scheduled for January 20. Khan said in his petition that “the school had only one teacher for the past several years”.
