Nrti Students Stage Stir Over Promises | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: The National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI) campus at the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR) in Lalbaug area witnessed a major protest from students on Monday.
Over 300 students of NRTI now renamed Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, touted to be the country’s first such university, staged a protest and sat on dharna for hours together alleging that the management was not keeping the promises it had given to students while enrolling them. The students said that the placement record of the institute was dismal and students are forced to adjust in rooms beyond its capacity.
The protesting students said that even as 60 rooms are vacant, they are being forced to share the rooms on a triple sharing basis instead of the earlier practice and promise that the rooms will be provided on double occupancy basis. On the placement front, the protesting students said that just a couple of public sector units are coming for campus placement and against the promise of 100% placement, just a couple of students are getting jobs.
