Indian diaspora has made a mark across the world: PM Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the Indian diaspora for having distinguished themselves across the globe as they received a warm welcome from the community on their arrival.
On Wednesday, soon after his plane landed and later at the hotel where he interacted with community members, he was received at the airport by groups of Indian-Americans.
“Grateful to the Indian community for the warm welcome to Washington DC. Our diaspora is our strength,” Modi said in a tweet along with a set of photographs from his conversation with the Indian American CEO.
“It is commendable how the diaspora has made a mark across the world,” Modi said.
One of the major events of the Prime Minister’s foreign visit is his meetings with the expatriate community in large gatherings.
However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, the Prime Minister is unlikely to hold a large gathering or meeting with the expatriate people.
Modi has been popular among Indian Americans, who make up more than 1.2 percent of the country’s population.
