nrai: Lift Curbs, Eatery Owners Urge Cm | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: The National Restaurant Association ,NRAI) of India has written to the chief minister Yogi Adityanath for an urgent review of the timing and capacity restrictions on restaurants that continue in the city despite the daily tally of Covid infections falling.
The letter, signed by restaurateur and NRAI’s Noida chapter head Varun Khera, requests permitting restaurant operations according to license conditions. It says allowing this will bring much needed relief to the industry at this critical juncture and help prevent further business closures and job losses. Restricted business hours means restaurants have to close at 10pm. This, argue restaurateurs, has affected peak dinner-time business because the last order has to be taken by 9pm so that guests can leave by 9.45pm. The restaurant industry, the letter states, has seen multiple outlets closing permanently and loss of many jobs across the country over the last two years.
“Experience over the last two waves shows that the pandemic graph continued to decline after restaurants were opened up for operations. The industry, however, has continued to operate with capacity and timing restrictions despite other activities being permitted to operate normally,” the letter argues. NRAI requests an immediate lifting of seating capacity and early closing restrictions to allow restaurants to operate full time and hope for early recovery and prevent revenue and job losses.
