Prayagraj: After the cancellation of the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET)-2021 Due to paper leak on November 28, the same exam may be held on January 23, 2022.

UPTET is a state level exam that is conducted once a year to enable candidates to qualify for teaching primary (class 1-5) and upper primary (class 6-8) classes in Uttar Pradesh government schools. The responsibility of conducting the examination rests with the ERA.
Refusing to comment on the proposal sent to the State Government in this regard, Secretary, ERA, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi said, “Conducting UPTET-2021 at the earliest in a transparent and fair manner is the topmost priority of ERA and in this regard Have to try. With this, speculations that the UPTET will be conducted in December have also been put to rest. At the time of cancellation of UPTET-2021, the state government had said that the exam would be conducted in a month’s time.
However, officials say that conducting the re-exam will take time as the ERA will again have to decide the printing press for the printing of question papers and OMR sheets (answer sheets) and rechecking of the exam centres. After that, candidates have to send fresh admit cards. However, the proposed date for re-conduct of UPTET-2021 by ERA is expected to be approved by the state government as the emphasis is on conducting the exam at the earliest.
ERA officials say the number of TET centers is expected to come down by around 15 per cent once they are finalised. The state government has directed the concerned district magistrates to get the centers checked from their level. Only schools of good repute have to be made the centre. There are about a dozen districts, including Prayagraj, where such schools were made centers where there was no arrangement to seat 500 candidates at a time, due to which the number of examination centers also increased.
At the same time, fewer examinees were allotted in some big schools. UPTET for primary level was to be conducted between 10 am to 12.30 pm at 2,554 centers across UP, followed by upper primary level examination at 1,754 centers on November 28 from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. A total of 12,91,628 candidates had registered. Appeared in the exam in the first shift in the state while 8,73,553 were registered to appear in the second shift. However, the state government canceled the exam hours before the exam after question papers were recovered from 26 people arrested in five districts of the state.
