Kolkata Knight Riders have won two of their five matches so far and are yet to click as a unit.

Kolkata Knight Riders have made a great start to their IPL 2023 campaign.

The two-time champions have won only two of the five matches they have played this season. However, the Nitish Rana-led Knight Riders have been training hard and are still upbeat about their prospects in the league.

The former two-time champions shared an Instagram reel of their players honing their catching skills during a practice session. In the clip, Narayan Jagadishan, Rahmanullah Gurbaj and Venkatesh Iyer are practicing slip catching as Kolkata’s fielding coach Ryan ten Doeschate leads the drill.

Sharing the reel, Kolkata wrote, “Nothing is slippin’ through!”

The reel has gained traction on social media. Many fans have praised the Kolkata players for their dedication towards the game and wished them all the best for the remaining matches under the reel.

“All the best KKR. Come back and win the next match,” read a comment.

KKR registered an impressive win against defending champions Gujarat Titans on 9 April.

Rinku Singh was the architect of that remarkable victory as he smashed five sixes in a row.

However, since that win, they have lost two matches in a row.

Although Nitish Rana, Rinku and Iyer have shown tremendous form with the bat, KKR are yet to fire as a team. In their last match against Mumbai Indians, Iyer scored a brilliant hundred but KKR posted 185 runs on the board thanks to significant contributions from other batsmen.

MI chased down that below-par total with ease, courtesy an impressive half-century from Ishan Kishan.

Kolkata’s opening pair of Jagadeesan and Gurbaj will need to perform well in the upcoming matches and provide solid starts. Also, Kolkata are heavily dependent on their star all-rounder Andre Russell.
