“They are definitely playing exciting but I don’t think that’s why T20 was invented,” said Christian after Australia’s three-wicket win.
“Twenty20 was invented for sixes and lots of runs, so it certainly hasn’t been great.”
Christian, the first Australian to hit five sixes in an over in a T20 International, nevertheless praised the competition in the low-scoring series.
“It’s so much interest on every ball of the game, on every boundary, it’s become so important to try to save one here. They can have such a huge impact on the game,” he said.
Christian feels that Dhaka’s wicket will not be ideal for his team’s preparation ahead of the World Twenty20 in the United Arab Emirates in October-November.
“After playing a bit in the UAE, Sharjah says, we get a little dew at night and it’s a pretty small ground so 220 could be a win score there,” says Sharjah.
Australia will conclude their tour with the fifth and final match of the series on Monday.
