Residents of North Korea are being forced to change their names if they share the same name as Kim Jong Un’s daughter Ju-ae. The orders are part of the regime’s effort to create a sense of mystery around Kim Joo-ae.

Reports say that local governments have ordered women named Joo-ae to change their birth records.

North Korea previously explicitly forbade people from using names similar to those of their leaders and their own families. In 2014, people were warned to refrain from using the name Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un’s daughter Ju-ae was recently seen wearing a white puffer jacket and red shoes while walking in front of a giant black and white missile during a North Korean military exercise, prompting speculation that she may Being trained to succeed his father. Surprisingly, she is the only one of Kim’s three children who has been made public. Kim married his wife Ri Sol Joo in 2009 and they have three children, two daughters and a son.
