Monday marked the first time in two months that North Korea had shot a ballistic missile into the sea. President Yoon Suk Yeol was hosting a conference in Seoul that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was attending.

The missile was shot east of the Korean peninsula, according to the South Korean military. The Coast Guard of Japan also stated that North Korea had launched what it claimed to be a ballistic missile and that the missile had already fallen.
North Korea has been practicing weapons
Later, Japan claimed to have caught what looked to be a second North Korean ballistic missile launch that had fallen outside of its exclusive economic zone. In recent weeks, the military of North Korea has been practicing with conventional weapons, frequently under the direct supervision of Kim Jong Un, the leader of the reclusive state.
Pyongyang’s display of power coincides with the conclusion of a ten-day, extensive annual joint military rehearsal between the forces of South Korea and the United States on Thursday. The South Korean military also deployed marines, attack helicopters, and amphibious assault vehicles on Sunday as part of exercises meant to increase troop levels and bolster western islands close to the North Korean sea border, which the North had destroyed in 2010.
Blinken is one of the international dignitaries attending the Summit for Democracy meeting, which South Korea is hosting and gets underway on Monday. He will also get to know his counterpart from South Korea.
U.S. President Joe Biden organized the conference to talk about strategies to halt the global erosion of rights and freedoms and democratic backsliding. North Korea conducted its final ballistic launch, claiming to have shot an intermediate-range hypersonic missile with a moveable warhead and solid fuel to test new booster engines.
