On 12 October, the National Highways Authority of India had asked the district administration to start work on the acquisition of private land on its behalf.
Additional District Magistrate (Land Acquisition) Balram Singh said that 69.4 hectares would have to be acquired for the spur road. “We have received the list of private plots that will be required for the construction of the spur road. The state government has asked us to expedite the work on the acquisition process. The land owner and others have been given 21 days to file their objections or suggestions. The notification of acquisition has been pasted on the Jewar Tehsil building and published in the newspapers.
After taking the feedback, the district administration will start the process of survey and measurement. According to the officials of the Revenue Department posted in Jewar Tehsil, only agricultural areas and barren land are being affected by the project.
The total length of the spur road will be 31.2 km. It will rise up and go over the Yamuna. A total of 8.1 km will come in Jewar tehsil. Land will be acquired in five villages Dayanatpur, Falouda Bangar, Karauli Bangar and Rampur Bangar. An NHAI official said the spur road was finalized under the Bharatmala scheme and was aimed at improving freight traffic. Noida International Airport Limited CEO Arun Veer Singh said that a cargo terminal is being developed under the airport project. “Having a direct link to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Faridabad will be mutually beneficial for all stakeholders in the long run,” he said.
